ESB Exam Results 2017

4 April, 2017

Calder House is delighted to announce this year's ESB Exam results.

In many ways the Exam, which is marked by an external examiner from the English Speaking Board, represents the "perfect storm" for many of our pupils. Each candidate is required to read a passage aloud, recite a poem from memory and give a presentation - all areas which our pupils traditionally find challenging. And that is exactly why we do it.

We take on the ESB Exams every year precisely because they focus on the very areas where pupils need to improve their skills and self-belief. The success of our children in these Exams and the confident way in which they approach them is a testament to the progress they are making at Calder House.

  • 46 pupils were entered into the exam
  • 100% passed
  • 70% achieved one of the two highest grades
  • 14 pupils achieved the highest possible grade:  Distinction

"I would like to congratulate all of our pupils on this year's excellent results." beamed Mrs Parsons. "Every child has a reason to feel proud and every parent a reason to feel proud of them!"
