ESB Exam Results 2018

18 May, 2018

We are delighted to announce that this year not a single child in the school passed their ESB exam!

That’s because, instead of an ordinary pass, every single one of our 47 pupils managed to achieve one of the top three grades: Merit, Merit + and Distinction.

On top of which no less than 74% of pupils were awarded one of the top two grades – beating last year’s record result.

“Our pupils have done incredibly well this year,” explained Mrs Rajani, one of the teachers who co-ordinated pupils’ preparation for the exams. “This is a terrific result but it’s even more impressive when you take into account that many of our pupils are now being entered for the more difficult grades. As a result, the bar has been raised – but our pupils have really risen to the challenge!”

Mr Page is equally impressed: “These exams focus on the very things our pupils find most challenging – reading with expression and understanding, reciting from memory and presenting information in an organised and coherent way. Their success in these exams – as individuals but also collectively – is a measure of the progress they are making. I’d like to congratulate them. And their teachers!”
