Huge congratulations to Frankie who has had a poem, entitled Lockdown Lessons, published by her local newspaper The Week In. Frankie wrote the poem as part of her English coursework set my Miss Kennedy but having completed it, she decided to send it in to her local paper.
“I had my fingers crossed that they would publish it,” Frankie explained, “so I was really pleased when I got the call and found out that they really had printed it!”
Frankie poem appears a section called Lockdown Poets’ Corner – alongside verses written by three adult poets!
Headteacher Mrs Delahay is full of praise for Frankie: “I’m really impressed by her poetry skills, by her beautifully neat handwriting and the lovely illustration she has created alongside her poem. But I’m also really impressed by the self-confidence and initiative Frankie has shown by sending her work to her local paper for publication. Well done Frankie! You have found inspiration in Lockdown and we are really proud of you.”
