Lights… Camera… Action!!

10 March, 2022

The South West Grid for Learning visited Calder House during Safety Week to talk to pupils and parents about staying safe online. However, the SWGfL team was so impressed by what they saw that they asked if they could come back... with a film crew!

So back they came with cameras, lights and sound equipment to record our pupils' reflections on Internet Safety - in order to create a resource for teachers and children in other schools.  They spent a busy day filming two safety workshops (involving some of our youngests as well as some of our oldest pupils) and interviewed both pupils and staff about e-safety and the active steps we all need to take in order to stay safe online.

"It is really important that all our pupils not only recognise and understand the risks that come with mobile tech, apps and the internet but also feel confident about discussing these risks, reflecting on them and asking for help and advice when its needed." explained Mrs Delahay. "I am  really proud of our the confidence and maturity shown by our pupils in front of the cameras. They have helped to create a really valuable resource for other children with SEN and their teachers."
