Raising the Rufus!

30 November, 2020

"It takes £1500 to train a Guide Dog," explains Rufus T-S. "That's a lot of money so when we heard that our favourite farm shop had picked Guide Dogs for the Blind as their charity this year, my family and I decided we wanted to help by taking part in a bring and buy cake exchange."

Rufus says that, although he made posters to advertise the event,  he was a bit worried no-one would show up. He need not have been! He sold his first brownie just three minutes after setting up and soon the cakes were selling, well,  like hot cakes!

"I chose to do a cake sale because, most people think of cakes as a treat," says Rufus. "And, right now, with CV19 going on, I think everyone is in the mood for a little treat."

And it wasn't just Rufus's human customers that appreciated all his cakes and hard work - his stall was visited by no fewer than four guide dogs!

Rufus's fantastic fundraising raised £254 and has enabled him to tick off a big achievement towards his CHS Agombar Awards.
